“Why is Greenwashing so problematic? We chose this subject for our first focus as without honesty we can’t possibly begin to address problematic areas of our supply chain, sourcing, packing choices, formulations, ingredients etc. Consumers trying to make more responsible choices are buying into the ‘values’ of a brand when they are really buying into an exaggerated headline. We have seen brands as of late be applauded for their pledges and marketing campaigns rather than what they have achieved. If all products are indeed “green” and “good for you and the planet” or if we can simply cleanse our way to a cleaner environment then our job here is done.”
