Dear Gorgeous Nothings Community,

 

As the Editor of Gorgeous Nothings, I am pleased to present our inaugural theme: Greenwashing. Well, perhaps ‘pleased’ isn’t the right word – maybe ‘humoured’ is more fitting. Tackling Greenwashing is no laughing matter, but a touch of humor might just be the secret ingredient we need to unravel its complexities. So, here we are, diving into the not-so-glamorous world of Greenwashing with a mix of curiosity and determination.

 

As a marketer, few issues strike as close to my heart as the need for authenticity and transparency in our industry. Greenwashing, unfortunately, is a prevalent challenge, but it’s a challenge that shouldn’t be insurmountable. Unlike other industry-wide issues that might demand a comprehensive supply chain or product development overhaul, combating Greenwashing can be more immediate. It’s a matter of knowledge and will—a realization that transformation is possible without compromising the core of a brand.

 

Three years ago, when I envisioned Gorgeous Nothings, I knew that Greenwashing had to be our starting point. It’s a topic that transcends the realms of mere marketing. It touches the very essence of consumer trust, corporate responsibility, and the future we envision for our industry.

 

In this issue, we unravel the layers of Greenwashing, exploring its manifestations, impact, and, most importantly, the pathways to meaningful change. We’ve collaborated with industry insiders, activists, and photographers to bring you insights that go beyond the surface, delving into the heart of the matter.
